Erik Goedecke
Died: September 10th, 2005

Friend and Waffen-SS Veteran, Erik was a key individual within the EMHS, funny and happy he was a pleasure to have during our events.

I had the opportunity to invite him home and spend a Sunday with him and his wife before I departed to Kuwait; it was a special day for him since I was able to have a Kubelwagen at the time of his visit. You had to be there to appreciate his reaction. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Magdalene Strache
In very rare occasion we have the opportunity to meet those who lived, laugh and cried during the war. However this occasion is special, Herr Strache decided to serve  his country the best as he could, he served the HEER as well as the SS. He would not survive the war, and today he is still Missing In Action. Frau Magdalene Strache never gave up hope, but time ran out , she died December 27 of 2003. At the age of 88 she had the same smile, and if you were one of the lucky ones she would share some stories. We were lucky, during the X-mas season I made her a German X-mas song book, she broke out singing. Maybe she remembered the old days. I never had the chance to wear my uniform to bring her more memories, but to honor both I decided to make this collage. As I am sure many times while in the field, he would look up in to the sky and see his love....
